July 31, 2026 - Notice of Meeting

The New Sweden Cemetery Maintenance District will hold a regular meeting at 7:00 p.m. on August 6, 2026, at 828 S 35 West, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83402. The agenda of the meeting will include:

Review and approve meeting agenda
Review and approve minutes from the March 18, 2026 meeting
Review and discuss actions not completed from the August 20, 2025 meeting or March 18 , 2026 meeting
Make plans to ensure newest board member James Lovejoy is recognized as a signature for the cemetery on ICCU accounts
Review current maintenance budget to ensure mowing and trimming costs are close or within budget restraints
Discuss assignment of responsibilities for the cemetery between board members
Discuss having an internal audit
Ensure the contact info with the county, funeral homes, website, etc & latest fees/cemetery information has been updated
Develop a proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2027 for the annual budget hearing meeting to be held on August 20, 2026
Discuss any issues board members or clerk feel needed to discuss

Memorial Day

May 17, 2026 - Please join us for our Memorial Day program at noon on Monday, May 25, 2026.

Our Memorial Day cleanup will be on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. All decorations outside of headstones or bases, as well as flowers placed for Memorial Day, will be removed. If there is anything that you do not wish to be discarded from the grave site of a loved one, please remove it prior to that day.

Cemetery Cleanup

March 24, 2026 - Cemetery cleanup will be Saturday, March 28, at 10 a.m. Please remove any items you wish to keep, or make sure they conform to the Cemetery Rules and Regulations. Decorations that are dead, worn, faded, broken, or found placed outside of the headstone base may be removed and disposed of without notice. Please help keep our cemetery beautiful!
